PROJECT 2 STAGE 01 - RESEARCH & IDEATION

Fictional audience: Werewolves

Introduction of werewolves:

In European folklore, a werewolf is a man who turns into a wolf at night. Werewolves assault animals and people involuntarily under the influence of a full moon. However, it will return to human form by day. Humans can change shape into wolves via heredity or be bitten by a werewolf.

Relevant movie: An American Werewolf in London

When the full moon rises, David transforms into a werewolf. He was killing six people. On the next morning, he wakes up naked on the floor of a wolf, with no memory of what happened. After realizing he is responsible for the previous night's murders, David unsuccessfully tries to get himself arrested in Trafalgar Square. Besides that, he also suicide. Unfortunately, David transforms into a werewolf again in the cinema. He was causing the deaths of several people and wreaking havoc in the streets. Eventually, the police surround and trap David in an alleyway. He is shot dead by the police and returns to human form.

Problems

1. What happens to werewolves on a full moon?
Werewolves are the man who can turn into a wolf at night according to European folklore. Because of the influence of the full moon, they will transform into wolf form and assault people unconsciously.

2. What are the physical traits of werewolves which humans can identify it?
Werewolves have a larger size of the body compared to normal humans. Besides that, they seem like ordinary wolves that furs around their body. Next, they also have a monobrow, sharp fangs and fingernails, and a swinging stride.

3. How werewolves can against the ordinary weapon?
Firstly, werewolves are stronger than humans. Thus, they are not injured easily and allow for short powerful strikes to defend themselves. Furthermore, werewolves have sharp claws which can attack others without using weapons. Next, werewolves also have enhanced senses. They are sensitive to light, smell, and sound. Hence, they can detect before humans assault them.

4. What are the weak points of werewolves when they are against humans?
Because of heightened senses, werewolves fear bright flashes and high-pitch sounds. In addition, werewolves are weak to silver. This is because silver was related to the moon and moon goddess Luna. Since the moon holds power over werewolves, then so must silver. Next, werewolves are also weak to fire and electricity. These are the universal weakness of all organisms. Werewolves are easy to set on fire due to their fur.

5. The damage and murder caused by werewolves can as an innocent crime?
I think can as an innocent crime. This is because they cannot control themselves to transform into wolf form when present on the full moon. Additionally, they attack people and damage buildings involuntarily. The strongest evidence to support my perspective is they will have no memory of what happened after they revert back to human form.

Mind map

Using the Mind map method, I'm exploring the advantages and disadvantages depending on the characteristics of werewolves to discover the solutions for humans.

Solutions

1. Use weapons that are made of silver. For example, silver sword.
This is because werewolves are weak to silver.

2. Use firearms which contain silencers.
This is because werewolves have enhanced senses. Hence, silencers can reduce the sound of firearms.

3. Bring key chains that have alarm functions.
The alarm can produce a high-pitch sound which is harmful to werewolves.

4. Use a flash bomb or devices with a big flash.
This is because werewolves are sensitive to light. Flash bombs and devices with a big flash can let werewolves temporary blindness.

5. Wear protective suits.
Protective suits avoid humans attacked by werewolves when they use sharp crawls. In addition, it also can protect humans from bite by werewolves with sharp fangs.
